If you know any particular person that you would like to see holding a lecture on a certain topic, then the programgroup at Uppsala´s Association of Foreign Affars is the perfect place for you. The program group consists of two secretaries of the programmes, Stina Bergman and Egil Martinsson and a number of students active and interested in politics, whose main task is to invite all sorts of different lecture holders.

Each semester, two programmes are made where about 24 lecturers crowd together to talk on different topics. To get journalists, authors, politicians and representatives from various NGOs to come to us, is not as difficult as you might think, since our organization is well-known and many remember it from when they were students themselves.

We in the program group meet up every three weeks or so to brainstorm about who we would want to see at our lectures. And of course we have a really great time while doing it, in our office in Ekonomikum. Our task is also to make sure that the lectures go as planned, that there are enough chairs for the audience and that the guest gets a traditional UF-cup after holding her or his talk. The reward for having invited someone is, beside the great honour, a dinner at a nation after the lecture, given that one also manages to bring the guest in question.
